The Maturity Assessment for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (MEDI) represents a unique, comprehensive and progressive assessment for any organisation committed to undertaking sustainable transformation.
The MEDI is based on best practice from across a range of sectors and examines both individual and organisational accountability.
It collates the operating, performance, culture, service and impact factors in assessing both the ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ positions of an organisation to inform the development of a ‘bespoke’ roadmap.
To this end, it recognises the 'critical' importance of a pragmatic mechanism to determine employee commitment to sustainable transformation in EDI based on the age-old assumption; 'the whole is the sum of its parts'.
Our Professional Development strand addresses this need as it requires each participant to explore their own personal understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion and how that relates to their role as a professional and to assess not only their own EDI impact but that of the organisation too. It is in the consideration of this latter area that offers the potential to employees to undertake the rigorous assessment which the MEDI requires.
The MEDI implies that organisations enhance their social and civic responsibility. This provides communities with an opportunity:
to ensure that social justice sits at the core of organisational ethical values and culture
to contribute to developing an open, collaborative, and supportive culture transformation through an EDI lens
to explore innovative design and advocacy to help drive the local economy
Our industry and sector-neutral workstream is
applicable to organisations of all sizes.
